2 Things I Did to Grow My Hair Back

2 Things I Did to Grow My Hair Back

Well actually, one thing, that led to the other, which did grow my hair back... (you'll be surprised)

Eight years ago, while on holiday overseas, my hair came out in clumps. I remember standing in the hotel bathroom pulling my hair away from my head.

I was absolutely gutted and worried sick. As I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror, I tried to imagine me without any hair.

Why was this happening? I thought it was only men who went bald.

I stretched my memory back to an incident about two years earlier when my then hairdresser laughed at me, and said I had a bald spot above my left ear.

Because of her jovial reaction to the issue, I wasn’t really all that concerned. I thought it would just go away, like any other lesion on your skin. I didn’t give it much further thought.

It was about a year later when I decided to leave that hairdresser due to some other issues, that I recalled that day with the bald spot, and went looking for it – and it was gone.

Had I discovered the female hair loss cure?

On that day I learnt something vitally important about female hair loss. However it wasn’t until I was standing in the bathroom in that hotel, thousands of kilometres from home, that another chapter in my discovery was unfolding.

I came home from my trip and began the search for the cause of my clumping hair loss. I discovered to my horror that it had likely been caused by an unnecessary medication that my GP had prescribed just prior to our trip overseas.

I ceased the medication, but the damage was done. I was now a woman with visible hair loss. I tried all sorts of remedies from shampoos to rubbing in special (and ridiculously expensive) drops, I looked after my diet when I could be bothered and when I wasn’t lamenting my devastating appearance.

At about this same time I discovered that my iron stores were low and sought to rectify that.

My hair loss continued to destroy my self esteem

Unfortunately, over the next few years my hair loss continued to plague me every day, my happiness was eroded, my confidence waning.

But then something unexpected came my way. I discovered something I had no idea even existed - a hair loss concealer that, after reading the reviews and checking out the obligatory before and after photos, did look promising.

As every woman with this it-can’t-be-happening-to-me, gut-wrenching ache-in-the-pit-of-your-stomach-hair-loss knows, any glimmer of hope is worth a try.

So, although I knew this would not grow my hair back, I bought some BOOST N BLEND  female hair loss concealer and, without any expectations, followed the directions to apply.

A simple hair loss concealer

Instantly the glaring visible pale skin beneath my once thick and luscious fringe, started to disappear. Unbelieving, I pulled out another mirror, put on my glasses and inspected the top of my head. The gaping hole was gone.  And I was hooked.

This fast became my routine. Wash hair, dry hair, style as usual (!), shake in some BOOST N BLEND, blend in lightly with wide tooth comb or fingers, light hairspray. Not once until I next washed my hair did I ever think about my hair or my hair loss.

Suddenly I was feeling happy with my appearance, no longer worried about standing in the sun or sitting under bright lights in a restaurant.

My hair style was beginning to go back to the way it used to be, and I was starting to get a spring in my step that had been long gone.

But I wasn’t prepared for what happened next.

Little known side effect of hair loss concealers

There was a side benefit of this female hair fibre which was still waiting for me to discover. BOOST N BLEND is not a hair growth product, it is a cosmetic (a bit like mascara, but completely dry and slightly electrostatic – it thickens each strand of hair like mascara thickens eyelashes). So there was no expectation of a permanent remedy.

However, what was miraculous and completely unexpected though was that while using BOOST N BLEND my hair grew back!

Sure, I continued to take iron supplements, tried to eat clean, used chemical free shampoo and minimised the chemicals on my scalp.

However, what I had unwittingly uncovered was something completely unexpected.

Stress and Female Hair Loss

Any woman with hair loss will tell you about the constant stress and worry caused by the sight of your hair going down the shower drain. This is usually followed by the heart break of trying to style an ever decreasing amount of usable locks. And finally that glimpse of yourself in a shop window or a fashion store’s mirror, and misery wells up from a place somewhere deep inside.

The stress of hair loss is indescribable. This study conducted in 2017 "Hair and stress: A pilot study of hair and cytokine balance alteration in healthy young women under major exam stress" showed that stress can indeed cause hair loss in some women. Further, an article published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology "Burden of Hair Loss: Stress and the underestimated Psychosocial IMpact of Telogen Effluvium and Androgenic Alopecia" observed a connection between the stress caused by hair loss and the further aggravation of hair loss, thus resulting in a self-perpetuating vicious circle - of female hair loss.

What I did to grow my hair back

The real breakthrough came from an almost indescribable peace born out of a complete lack of hair loss stress and worry. With my hair loss now hidden from view, and something absolutely no one in my life now mentioned or discussed, I was free to relieve myself of one very major stress factor.

And this is where my bald spot from a few years before comes sharply into focus. As previously mentioned, there is evidence that stress plays a huge role in female hair loss, from the stress caused by surgery, major illness, trauma, a death in the family, divorce and many other life altering events.

While I could have stressed over my bald spot, the fact is, I just didn’t. I was busy, my hair dresser didn’t seem to think it was something to worry about and so I just didn’t give it another thought. And it went away.

When I compare that to my discovery of BOOST N BLEND and the gradual healing of my hair loss, I realise that there is a significant pattern here. Once I was using a cosmetic concealer and no longer suffering deep misery, stress, depression and embarrassment from my hair loss, it gradually rectified itself.

I was no longer checking my hair every five minutes, I was no longer applying an endless supply of (supposed) hair growth treatments. Although, instinctively I knew that since there are still a zillion bald men out there, there is no real magic hair growth formula. Nonetheless, like most women with thinning hair, I tried everything.

My hair loss concealer had solved the mystery

And so to my incredible discovery – the stress caused by hair loss can in itself, be a self-sustaining and ongoing cause of hair loss in women.

You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain by giving a female hair loss concealer like BOOST N BLEND, which has been specifically formulated for women, a try. Take the stress of hair loss off the table and even if your hair doesn’t all come back, the use of the concealer will put a smile back on your face the next time you look in the mirror.

And what could be better than that?

Try BOOST N BLEND female cotton hair fibres for yourself.
